UPDATE: Convicted Child Sex Offender Arrested In Roseville
VACAVILLE (CBS13) — A convicted sexual predator who preyed on children was captured in Roseville on Friday night after police received a tip about his location.
Vacaville police had been searching for Mark Wayne Speer, who reportedly removed his GPS monitoring device back in December. After they received a tip that Speer was in Roseville, they contacted Roseville police and officers there took Speer into custody.
Speer is a parolee-at-large and was considered armed and dangerous, according to police. They were searching for him in the Fairfield/Vacaville area and believed he could be staying at hotels in the area. It wasn't immediately clear where in Roseville Speer was tracked down.
CBS13's Derek Shore spoke to Speer's mother on Friday night before his arrest and she begged for him to turn himself in.
