Construction On I-5 In Woodland

Sacramento (CBS13)-- Caltrans has announced road closures in Woodland that will take place Tuesday night from 8 p.m. and continue through early Thursday morning.
The I-5/County Road 102 interchange/loop ramps will be shut down on April 12-14 to allow preparations for the construction of a new bridge. Caltrans says the majority of the work will be done between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., which should not make a major impact on most drivers.
The agency suggests the following detours:
- Traffic on northbound CR-102 going to northbound I-5 will be detoured down Main Street to northbound Highway 113 and then onto northbound I-5.
- Traffic heading southbound on CR-102 en route to southbound I-5 will be detoured to Andrew Stevens Drive, then to Kincheloe Drive and then to Maxwell Avenue before continuing on I-5. A left turn onto CR-102 will allow access to the new southbound ramp.
- North and Southbound I-5 freeway traffic will be directed to exit and then re-enter the freeway.
The project began in August 2010, and pending cooperation from the weather, it's scheduled to be completed by December. With an estimated total cost of $8.5 million, and 20 percent of the funds coming from the city, the completion of the project is an investment the city of Woodland is highly anticipating.

Caltrans urges motorists to use caution in this area and to "Slow for the Cone Zone".
