This event will be marked down in history for a few several reasons. UFC 205 will be the first UFC event to ever take place in Madison Square Garden since the New York State Assembly lifted the ban on MMA back in March.
UFC 205 will also present the opportunity for "The Notorious" Conor McGregor to become the first UFC Champion to hold two belts in two separate divisions at the same time, should he beat Alvarez. However, McGregor will not be putting his Featherweight belt on the line since the two fighters will meet at 155 lbs.
McGregor vs. Alvarez will serve as the main event and will join other featured bouts on UFC 205 that include:
Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson
Joanna Jedzejczyk vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero
Donald Cerrone vs. Kelvin Gastelum
Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington
Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens
Tim Kennedy vs. Rashad Evans
Tim Boetsch vs. Rafael Natal
Jim Miller vs. Thiago Alves
Lyman Good vs. Belal Muhammad
Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian
UFC 205 will take place on November 12, 2016 in New York, NY.
