Comedy Club Shooting Leaves Man Critically Injured

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (CBS13) -- One man is being treated for life-threatening injuries and five people have been arrested after a shooting broke out during a brawl at a Fairfield comedy club.

The Fairfield Police Department said they received reports that an altercation had grown out of control at Pepperbelly's Comedy Theater just after midnight Sunday.

A 29-year-old Vallejo man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was rushed to the hospital.

Officers had to call for help from multiple law enforcement agencies to break up a brawl outside the comedy club. Five people were arrested for being drunk in public, fighting in public and resisting arrested.

The suspects have been identified as 41-year-old Bernard Ingram of Vallejo, 22-year-old Shaina Hamilton of Sunnyvale, 21-year-old Alyssa Espinoza of Fairfield, 28-year-old Eliza Smith of Palo Alto, and 21-year-old Shameka Hamilton of Morgan Hill.

A motive for the shooting has not been determined and a suspect has not been identified.
