Color Run Brightens Up Sacramento Streets

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - It's called the happiest 5k on the planet. The Color Run returned to Sacramento.

Nearly 12-thousand people... Came out to participate at capitol mall this morning...

Runners decked in white... Didn't stay clean for long....

At every kilometer, runners are doused from head to toe in different colors.

"I think really what it is it allows people to just act like kids again. It's a run that there's no competitive advantage. You come here slow, fast, big, small, it doesn't matter. Everyone can have fun," said race director Sean DeGray.

The color run will visit more than 100 cities this year.
