Cold, Wet Weather In Weekend Forecast

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A cold front has descended on the Sacramento region, where temperatures dropped down to the mid-30s this morning.

Although the sun is out today, daytime high temperatures aren't supposed to reach 60 degrees. The projected high of 59 in Sacramento is about 15 degrees cooler than normal, CBS13 meteorologist Laura Skirde reports.

Tonight will be clear and cold, with overnight lows again dropping down to the high 30s.

The clouds will start rolling in on Saturday and rain showers are expected around 5 p.m., Skirde said. About a quarter of an inch of rain is expected in the valley, with snow falling in the Sierra.

The skies should clear up on Sunday but it will still be very cool, Skirde said. Highs are expected in the upper 50s.

It's also time to set the clocks back one hour Saturday night.
