City Of San Francisco Spending $4 Million On Super Bowl 50
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS13) - The city of San Francisco will spend as much as $4 million taxpayer dollars to host Super Bowl 50, according to a new city report.
Most of the money will be spent on transportation and police overtime.
Some supervisors say the league should pick up the tab.
"They've said that it's not a whole lot of money in comparison to what might be coming in, and I agree, it's not a whole lot of money for them. It's a 30-second super bowl commercial for them, so why not just pay for it?" said city of San Francisco Supervisor Jane Kim.

"The Super Bowl is going to generate millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars for the city. It's creating jobs, it's benefiting restaurant workers, hotel workers and others," said P.J. Johnston a member of the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee.
The mayor's office says the expense is minor compared to THE amount of money the city will make from sales and hotel taxes. The game airs on February 7 on CBS13.
