Sacramento Man Arrested In Massive Ponzi Scheme
A man being dubbed Sacramento's Bernie Madoff is now behind bars after federal investigators say he made millions off a Ponzi scheme.
43-year old Christopher Jackson is accused of bilking prospective clients out of $11 million to fund his lavish lifestyle.
Investigators say he convinced people to refinance their homes and then invest in something called Genesis Innovations.
"How could we have fallen into this trap? It was just so awful," said victim Jennifer Ruiz.
Ruiz agreed to tell her story to help others avoid this trap.
The Ponzi scheme allegedly was conducted from 2005 and 2009.
