CHP Officer Injured In I-80 Accident
AUBURN (CBS13) -- A California Highway Patrol officer was injured Thursday afternoon when his squad car was rear-ended on Interstate 80.
CHP officials said the officer was traveling near Applegate Road in Auburn when a Honda Accord crashed into him from behind.
The officer was taken to the Faith Auburn hospital for complaints of pain, and the driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Alcohol was not immediately suspected as a factor and the driver of the Accord has not been arrested.
The identity of both parties have not been released.
