CHP Officer Injured In Hit-And-Run Remains In Critical Condition
2 p.m. Update: California Highway Patrol has identified the suspect as 28-year-old Austin Berry Scott.
The new details were released during a press conference held early Friday afternoon.
CHP said Officer Michael Ericson is resting following surgery. He remains in critical but stable condition.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department booking logs, Scott is from Reno.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The California Highway Patrol officer hurt in a hit-and-run remains in critical condition at the UC Davis Medical Center.
Hospital officials say Officer Michael Ericson is still in the ICU on Friday morning.
Ericson is a 17-year veteran with CHP. He was rushed to the hospital early Thursday afternoon after the driver of a stolen construction truck backed over him on westbound Interstate 80.
Investigators say the suspect driver intentionally backed over Ericson.
The suspect took off and was later arrested in the Fairfield area. His identity has not been released as of Friday morning.
CBS13 spoke to an off-duty Sacramento Fire Department firefighter who was was one of the first people at the scene. She immediately jumped in to help the injured Ericson.
"Vehicles were stopping and a thing that struck me as odd was that people were turning in multiple directions and bailing out of their cars," Sharon McIntyre said. "At that time I recognized that a CHP officer had been down."
Hospital officials say they will give an update on Ericson's condition on Saturday.
