Driver in Fatal crash near Yuba City suspected of DUI
SUTTER COUNTY -- One person is dead and two people were injured over the weekend in a possible DUI crash in Sutter County.
According to the CHP, Serina Ali, 24, was driving south on Humphrey Road just, just west of Yuba City, when, a woman, 35, from Yuba City, was driving on State Road 20 toward Humphrey Road. Investigators say Serina went through the intersection without stopping at the stop sign and hit the side of the other vehicle, killing the driver.
Serina's passenger, 44-year-old Stacy Lynn Ali, sustained major injuries. Both of the Alis were transported to Adventist Health + Rideout Hospital to be treated.
Officers investigated the crash and arrested Serina on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
