Child Molester Sentenced To 125 Years In Prison

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A repeat-offender child molester was sentenced to 125 years to life in prison Friday after luring a boy into his hotel room just a week after his release from prison.

Robert Precobb, 56, of Sacramento was sentenced by Judge Greta Curtis Fall in Sacramento Superior Court after being found guilty last month on all counts of child molestation with a prior felony conviction and providing marijuana to minors, District Attorney Jan Scully said.

Precobb had several prior convictions dating back to 1978. After a 1988 conviction, Precobb was sentenced to serve 15 years to life. He was granted an early release from prison in February 2010.

In just one week, he lured a 14-year-old boy to his motel room by plying him with drugs and alcohol, where he then had the victim remove his shirt and asked him a series of sexually suggestive questions, Scully said.

Through the course of the investigation, Sacramento County sheriff's detectives discovered a number of additional victims whom Precobb had provided with drugs and alcohol in an attempt to bring them back to his motel room.
