Chase suspect crashes, jumps into water while trying to get away from Sacramento officers
SACRAMENTO – Officers say a suspect who led them on a chase early Friday morning in Sacramento had to be taken to the hospital after crashing and then jumping into some water.
Sacramento police say, around 2 a.m., officers started chasing a suspect for a traffic-related violation.
The suspect eventually crashed near Truxel Road and Garden Highway, police say.
It was then that the suspect got out, officers say, and ran into some water nearby.
Officers say the suspect eventually got out of the water on their own and was taken into custody. The suspect was then taken to the hospital to be treated for some non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the suspect.
