Car Slams Into Residence After Fleeing Yolo County Deputies
WINTERS (CBS13) -- The latest on a chase that ended in a crash in Yolo County:
2:17 p.m.
Authorities say the people inside the car were involved in some sort of disturbance outside the recreation yard at the Yolo County Juvenile Detention Facility in Woodland just before the chase.
During the chase, authorities say the two people inside the car managed to switch places just before the pursuit reached up to 100 mph.
The chase took authorities through Woodland, the edge of Davis and unincorporated Yolo County before eventually ending in Winters when an officer threw out a spike strip.
After crashing, the two suspects managed to get away and have still not been found.
It is unclear exactly what was going on outside juvenile hall before the chase, authorities say. All detainees at the facility have been accounted for.
5:56 a.m.
Deputies chased a Toyota sedan with two occupants through rural Yolo County early Tuesday morning.
The pursuit ended just before 4:30 a.m. when the vehicle slammed into a residential structure in The Villas At El Rio in Winters. Video from the scene of the crash showed significant damage to the exterior wall of the building and airbags of the vehicle deployed.
Sheriff's deputies were searching for the two occupants of the vehicle who fled the scene. Deputies set up a perimeter in the area.
