SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The car salesman who was shot in a deadly crime spree on Friday is in better condition, but still has a long fight ahead of him.
Anthony Holmes, 38, was listed in critical condition on Friday night after being shot twice, once in the head. A family member told CBS13 on Friday the bullet to his head struck his jaw, and they're hoping for no brain damage.
Holmes condition was upgraded to fair condition after going through an eight-hour surgery on Saturday.
The car salesman was wounded in the middle of an alleged crime spree by Marcelo Marquez and Janelle Monroy. Marquez is also accused of shooting and killing Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff's Deputy Mike Davis, Jr.
