Car Dealerships Reporting Bustling Business

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Car dealerships are reporting that business has been booming in November, which is shaping up to be their best month of the year.

Car salesmen such as Moe Jaradat at Performance Chevrolet in Sacramento have much to be thankful for this holiday season.

"There is a light at the end of the tunnel," he told CBS13 on Monday. "We're breaking records, meeting objectives. It's good for us. We're doing very well."

With more Americans turning in their old models for newer ones, November is shaping up to be the best month of this year and last year.

"You see more new vehicles on the street," Jaradat said. "I bought myself a couple of new vehicles."

In the last few months Jaradat says car sales at Performance have broken two-year records. Instead of selling just 50 cars a month, the dealership is unloading more than 100.

And that's good news for the economy because 10 percent of California's general fund comes from car sales revenue.

It's also keeping sales people employed. "We don't have furloughs anymore," Jaradat said.
