UPDATE: Driver Arrested For DUI After Smashing Into Two Power Poles

WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police have arrested a driver for DUI after he crashed Thursday morning, taking out two utility poles and knocking out power to some West Sacramento residents.

Police were called to the area of 4315 Gregory Avenue around 3 a.m. for the report of a crash.

When they arrived, they found a white car off the roadway and two toppled utility poles.

Police say the driver, 21-year-old Cody Zito, was traveling south on the street when he lost control on a curve and hit a power pole.

He then skidded off the shoulder and careened back across all lanes of the road, hitting another power pole on the opposite side of the street.

The driver and two passengers sustained only minor injuries, according to police.

Zito was arrested.

PG&E says one to 25 houses were without power. They expect power to be restored by noon.
