With so many people upgrading to the new iPad, some are wondering what to do with their old one.
Tens of thousands of people are trying to off load their old iPads. I looked into your options and how you can get the most money.
Millions of Apple fans couldn't wait to get their hands on the new iPad.
"I'm happy, I've been waiting for awhile now," said Diana Nguyen, new iPad owner.
Some people are already upgrading from the iPad 2 which just came out last year.
We wanted to know where you get the most if you want to sell your old iPad.
"The key thing to know is that you're not going to get anywhere near what you paid for it a year ago when the iPad first came out," said Josh Lowensohn, CNET Staff Writer.
Comparing six websites, we plug information in for a 16GB WI-FI iPad 2:
Apple's Reuse and Recycling Program offers $255 if it's in good condition with no water damage or scratches.
Walmart, Target, Best buy and RadioShack offer trade-ins ranging from $210 to $250.
The best deal? Amazon shows $322, if your iPad 2 is "like new."
All but Best Buy will pay for your shipping. Online, only Walmart says it'll give you a check. The rest we mentioned offer gift cards.
But some sites will cut what they'll pay you if you don't have your iPad's original packaging or your iPad is engraved.
"You can tend to make more money if you sell it on eBay or craigslist, the problem with that is that it takes time," said Lowensohn.
Robert Orani sold his 64GB iPad 2 on craigslist for $525, just $175 less than he paid last year.
"I think you get a little bit more money if you go try to sell it locally," said Orani.
For others considering an upgrade, it just might be too early to sell their iPad 2 after buying it just a year ago.
"It's barely a year and you lose half of the price I guess," said Shane Flores, iPad 2 owner.
Before giving up your iPad, restore it to factory settings to wipe out everything you have on there.
If you have the original packaging, we found it could be worth an extra $10. If your iPad is engraved, it could drop the price by as much as $95.
