Call Kurtis: Flipped Out Over Photos

A Lodi mom ordered football and cheer photos of her kids but says she didn't get what she paid for. When she couldn't get the photography company to fix them, she called Kurtis. And she's not the only parent upset.

Parents tell us they've been calling the studio for months but got nowhere. Maybe we can help. Julia Staley's an active mom, with a son in football and she helps coach her daughter's youth cheer team.

But when it comes to her kids' teams photos from Element Studios in Lodi, she's got nothing to cheer about.

"When we got the pictures, we realized that many things were missing... misspelled," says Julia.

All the photos are individually taken, then photo shopped together to create a team picture. She says her daughter's team photo has the wrong coach.

"Down here in the corner is where I'm supposed to be," says Julia. And Julia says half her son's order is missing.

Several more parents have also complained to us. Julia says the photographer for Element Studios promised to fix them in early December. But still no photos after numerous calls.

"I literally left anywhere from three to five messages every day for several weeks and I got no response," says Julia.

And now the studio is closed. The only thing left inside? Some framed photos.

We contacted Element Studios and spoke with one of the photographers.

He blamed the photo mistakes on a "software glitch" and also on "parents not filling out the correct forms..."

But admits he failed to follow up on these parents' complaints and promised to "do the right thing."

The next day, he drove to Julia's house to deliver some photos and has since delivered the rest… giving Julia and the girls something to cheer about.

Right now, the cheerleading coach tells us there are still about 7 to 8 parents waiting to receive their photos. We called the photographer today but his voicemail was full.

Element Studios Statement

The responsibility was ours to provide the parents… the correct images in a timely manner, we have failed to do this for some of these parents. Element Studios has since closed business, however, everything is being done to ensure these corrections have been made and parents received the proper order they had originally placed.
