California Inmate's Death Being Investigated As Homicide
SUSANVILLE, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating as a homicide the death of a 25-year-old inmate at a state prison near Susanville.
State Correctional Lt. Charlie Hahn said Jesse Watson was found dead early Monday at High Desert State Prison, 190 miles northeast of Sacramento. He came to the prison in May to serve a sentence of 25 years-to-life for a Santa Clara County murder.
Hahn says Watson's cellmate is being held in isolation while the crime is being investigated by state and local authorities. He would give no other details about Watson's death, citing the investigation.
