Calaveras County Grandmother Accused Of Killing Husband, Trying To Kill Granddaughter
CALAVERAS COUNTY (CBS13) — A Calaveras County grandmother is accused of killing her husband and trying to kill her granddaughter, investigators say.
Calaveras County Deputies combed a rural piece of property near Valley Springs for evidence on Thursday.
"It appears to be some sort of domestic issue," said Sheriff Gary Kuntz. "What it is, we're not sure right now."
Detectives say they got a 911 call late Wednesday night about a shooting at the Amos Lane home in Burson. They found a 52-year-old man dead, and a 20-year-old woman critically injured.
Investigators say the 20-year-old identified the shooter as Charity Ford, 56.
A 5-month-old boy was also found unharmed, inside the home. He's now in CPS custody.
Amada Delgado lives next door to the crime scene. She says it's usually quiet at her neighbors' ranch home.
"I was home and everything, but I didn't hear anything," she said. "It's just something scary and horrible."
Ford's bail was set at $2 million as investigators continue to search for a motive in the shooting.
