Buy It And Try it: Shark Steam Mop

The Shark Steam Mop claims it'll obliterate tough grime, so let's see
if it works.

The Haight kids are homeschooled, and there are five of them. On cold
days, recess is inside their Natomas home, but that doesn't keep them
from getting their exercise.

Round and round they go, and yes, they leave their mark through scuff
marks. The Haights normally use a good old mop to clean them up.

"It needs muscle to get out," says mother Rosita Haight.

But not with this. The Shark Steam Mop says it will obliterate grime,
eradicate dirt, and melt away sticky dried-up soda.

If it works?

"A godsend," says Rosita.

But dad Nick is a skeptic.

"I look at the Shark, and probably wouldn't consider it because it
looks so lightweight," Nick says.

It is, just 3 pounds put together. Once assembled, mom Rosita pours in
tap water. We plug it in, wait 30 seconds for it to heat up, and we're
good to go.

She goes over the scuff marks near the sliding glass door, and to her
surprise, "with a little effort it obliterated it."

Nick finds a spot where it's sticky from soda. Rosita steams over it.
What does he think? "Pretty good," Nick says. "It seems like it got it
all."

Nick tries it out. "I'm just doing the motion it takes to push it, I'm
not pushing any harder than I have to," he says.

But together, in just a few minutes, we manage to get the entire floor
clean without much effort. Now it's time to check out the washable
microfiber pad.

"It looks like there was more dirt on the floor than I thought," Rosita says.

And they are sold on the Shark Steam Mop.

"It does what it's supposed to do."

I paid $79.99 and bought it at Target.
