Buy It And Try It: Robo Maid

Fancy footwork has graced the floors of the Ballroom of Sacramento for
more than a decade. Here, they give lessons and host weekend dances.

But when you've got fast moves across the dance floor, you're bound to
kick up some dust bunnies. It's Marc Vangere's job to sweep them away.

"Boy, it's boring," Vangere laughs. "I have better things to do."

Enter the RoboMaid, which says it'll sweep floors so you don't have to.

"Sounds like a good deal to me," Vangere says.

After charging up the robotic ball, you put the special pad on the
cleaning frame and set the timer for up to an hour and a half. Drop in
the ball, and you're off.

Vangere isn't unimpressed by it's "smart sensor technology."

"Wow," he says. "That's very interesting, how it moves out of corners."

After watching it glide across the floor and even make a lap around
the good old broom, we check it out.

"We see dust, hair, typical of the ballroom floor," Vangere says. "It
does work in a small room. It absolutely picks up dust. I'd use it in
my home."

But in this big room, there are still some dust bunnies on the floor.

"I don't know if it would make the cut for Dancing With The Stars," he says.

I paid around $30 with shipping and bought it as-is on TV.com. It
comes with eight pads.
