Buy It And Try It: Robo Maid

Fancy footwork has graced the floors of the Ballroom of Sacramento for more than a decade.

When you've got fast moves across the dance floor, you're bound to kick up some dust bunnies. It is the job of Marc Vangere's job to sweep them away.

"Boy it's boring. I have better things to do," said Vangere.

Enter the Robo Maid, which says it'll sweep floors so you don't have to.

"That sounds like a good deal to me," said Vangere.

After charging up the robotic ball, you put the special pad on the cleaning frame. Next, set the timer for up to an hour and a half. Drop the ball in, and you're off.
"Wow, that's very interesting how it moves out of corners!" said Vangere.

It's called smart sensor technology. After watching it glide across the floor, and even make a lap around the good old broom, we check it out.

"We see dust, we see hair. Typical of the ball room floor," said Vangere.

Just remove the pad and dump it. So what does he think?

"It does work in a small room. It absolutely picks up dust. I'd use it in my home," said Vangere.

In big ballroom, there are still some dust bunnies on the floor.

"I don't know if it would make the cut for Dancing with the Stars," said Vangere.

Granted, it was a big room, but he thinks it'll work well at home. We paid around $30 with shipping. It comes with 8 pads, but 48 more can be purchased for $5.99, which pays for shipping and handling.
