Buy it and try it: Evapo-Rust

At DC Metals in North Highlands they turn junk into money. Would 'Evapo-Rust' work for them?

They pay for scrap metal, so they deal with lots of rust. Where there's metal, rust often isn't far behind.

Manager Matthew Braswell normally gets the rust off using a machine. CBS13 gave him Evapo-Rust, which claims to be a super-safe rust remover.

He wanted to know what was in the product, but it doesn't say. He found some rusty objects around to try it out on, including a slightly rusted ruler, a moderately rusty tool and some heavily rusted blocks of metal.

The directions say to drop it in the solution for a half hour for light rust and overnight for the heavier stuff.

So a half hour later, we checked it out. After rinsing off our lightly rusted ruler, it's still lightly rusted.

Remember, it's supposed to take a half hour on the lightly rusted objects, and overnight on the heavily rusted. So we decide to let everything sit in the solution overnight.
We come back the next day and checked it out. the rust was gone on the ruler.

Braswell wishes it worked faster, but in the end – it works.
