Buy It And Try It: Blox

The Machado boys keep mother Lisa busy. Having three boys translates
to a lot of stains and a lot of laundry.

"It's just a constant struggle to keep things clean," Lisa said.

The Blox commercial shows juice ruining an untreated dress, but then
it shows it repel the juice on a dress treated with Blox.

It's supposed to work on spaghetti, coffee, juice, mustard, ketchup,
dirt, blood and more. All you do to treat clothes is pour the Blox
solution into the fabric softener dispenser or during the rinse cycle
as you was a load of laundry. One bottle is enough to treat two loads.

After drying the clothes, the clean white shirt is now Blox'ed.

The kids raid the refrigerator so we can make a good old mess, and we
head outside to test out blox. We'll compare the results to an
untreated t-shirt. The kids start easy, with a clear juice.

It seems to soak into the non-treated shirt, but with the shirt with Blox…

"It beaded off."

It doesn't set in. The kids then put on the shirts, and we'll try a
colored liquid: cold coffee.

It soaks right into the untreated shirt, but with the Blox shirt:

"It's coming right off!"

Put them side-by-side, you can see a big difference. Now for something
thicker, ketchup.

Some slid off the treated shirt, but some of the red mess stayed
behind. Following the directions, mom flushes with water, but it still
leaves a small stain.

"This just soaks right in [to the untreated shirt], and that comes
right off [the Blox shirt]," Lisa said, comparing the two. "That's
pretty impressive."

But we're not done: Let's try mustard. Again, it soaks into the
untreated shirt. The Blox shirt is better, but not stain-free.

The directions online say tougher stains on Blox-treated shirts will
come off if you wash it. Lisa did, and sent pictures showing the
stains did come out, compared to the washed non-treated shirt.

"I'm very impressed," Lisa said.
