Burglars Trash Cameron Park Home, Steal Thousands Of Dollars In Tools
CAMERON PARK (CBS13) - Burglars stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools before trashing a Cameron Park rental home.
The homeowner, who doesn't want to be identified, says thieves left $20,000 worth of damage to her home.
"The house just looked destroyed," she said.
Inappropriate words and drawings were spray painted all over the walls.
"We couldn't believe it, it's not real," she said.
The homeowner thinks the culprits are a group of vandals who may be as young 14. They destroyed the carpet and even pulled cabinets off the wall. To top it off, they took $100,000 worth of automotive tools that will put her son out of work, she says.
"Neighbors say they had a big old red truck that came there every day taking stuff out," she said.
Neighbors are also wondering who would do so much damage to such a nice home.
"It's very odd for this neighborhood -- for anything like this to happen," said a neighbor.
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department is looking for five suspects ranging in age from 14 to 38.
