Brown Gets Extra Month To Review Buildings Sale

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- A state appeals court has granted Gov. Jerry Brown an extra month to review the state's sale of office buildings.

The 6th District Court of Appeal this week postponed a hearing that was scheduled for Jan. 26 in San Jose. The court granted Brown until at least the second half of February to respond.

Brown has not said publicly what he wants to do about former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposal to sell 24 state buildings to a group of private investors for $2.3 billion.

As the state's attorney general, Brown declined to represent Schwarzenegger in the case.

Just before leaving office, Schwarzenegger was turned down by the California Supreme Court to lift a stay on the sale.
