UPDATE: Coroner Identifies Boy Hit And Killed Outside Woodland Grocery Store
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The identity of a 2-year-old boy who was killed Thursday morning in a tragic accident outside of the Bel Air grocery store in Woodland has been released.
The Sacramento County Coroner's office has identified the boy as Elijah Lewis.
At 9 a.m. Thursday, Lewis was inside the store with his mother when he got out of his stroller, ran out of outside and into the path of an SUV. He was transported to UC Davis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to Sgt. Tom Davis of the Woodland Police Department.
The driver of the SUV is identified as Kathleen Parker, 67, of Woodland.
Woodland Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
