49ers Send Message In Tennessee & NFL Musings

The Seahawks (6-1) may be the class of the NFC West but the San Francisco 49ers aren't going away quietly.
San Francisco (5-2) has won four straight games after a 31-17 win over the Tennessee Titans, and the 49ers are doing what they do best on offense--running the ball.
Frank Gore had two touchdowns on Sunday and the 49ers lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 11 on the season.
Stat(s) of the day-49ers had 0 turnovers. The Titans defense came into Sunday's game with 13 takeaways—tied for 4th in the NFL
The 49ers defense has 12 takeaways over the last three weeks and have outscored 132-51 during their four game winning streak.
Harbaugh pumped up-49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is no stranger to getting amped up but he looked especially excited during the 49ers biggest win of the season.
The third-year head coach got in the middle of a shoving match between safety Bernard Pollard and offensive lineman Joe Staley.
A few minutes later Harbaugh ran, jumped and fist pumped his way down the sideline following Kassim Osgood's special teams touchdown.
Week 7 NFL Musings-
-The win in Tennessee tells me the 49ers are the 2nd best team in the NFC and the 2nd half of the season looks even better. Wide receiver Michael Crabtree should be back soon and the schedule looks favorable. Next week: a win against Jacksonville (0-7) in London.
-Jets-Patriots controversial field goal-We can debate all day about the personal foul call on Patriots defensive lineman Chris Jones that led to the Jets getting another opportunity and beating the Patriots 30-27 but the fact is, it's the rule and it was applied correctly.
2013 NFL Rulebook-Rule 9, Section 1, Article 3, Sub-Article (B) (2) states: When Team A presents a field goal or try kick formation: Team B players cannot push teammates on the line of scrimmage into the offensive formation.
It's unfortunate that the first time this rule was called was on a play that happened to decide a game but the ruling was correct.
Oh, and the Jets are 4-3. Rookie QB Geno Smith deserves a ton of credit for helping his team get back in this game.
-Tom Brady (22-46, 0 TDs and 1 INT) did not look great today against a tough Jets defense. He had a few overthrows and didn't look like he was on the same page with his receivers.
KC survives-The Chiefs hang on to beat the Texans 17-16 to improve to 7-0 on the year.
Case Keenum got the start at QB for Houston and he did not look bad on the road in his first start against the league's best defense. Wade Phillips says Keenum reminds him of his former QB Tony Romo.
-RG3 looks like he's back-We've been waiting to see RG3 return to form after his offseason surgery and it looks like he's getting more and more comfortable.
He threw for nearly 300 yards but the key for Griffin is making plays with his feet. He did so with 84 yards rushing—Washington had over 200 as a team in the win over Chicago.
That's back-to-back games with over 75 yards rushing for Griffin.
-Bad news Bears-QB Jay Cutler went down with a groin injury. Get ready for the Josh McCown-Jordan Palmer QB controversy.
-Props to the Falcons-No Julio Jones, Steven Jackson, Roddy White, and a defense that has been atrocious. That had the recipe of the Bucs getting their first win of the year against the Falcons but Harry Douglas was huge for Atlanta (7 rec, 149 yards and a TD)
-Cowboys in control of NFC East-It may not be saying much but the Cowboys took care of business in Philly against Chip Kelly's explosive offense. Dallas did not have defensive leader DeMarcus Ware but Dallas defense stepped up holding the Eagles to three points.
Nick Foles looked awful before leaving the game with a head injury and that forced rookie Matt Barkley into the game. Chip Kelly better hope Vick gets back soon.
The Cowboys (4-3) are 3-0 against NFC East teams this season.
