Big Rig Runs Over Driver Ejected From Previous Crash In Modesto
MODESTO (CBS13) – A driver has been killed in Modesto after being ejected from his car and then run over by a Semi-Truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened on Highway 99 near Crow's Landing around 1:30 this morning. The CHP says the driver of a sports car was speeding and driving erratically before losing control. The car hit the guardrail and the driver was thrown from the vehicle into the roadway.
He was then hit by a passing big rig.
CHP says the truck driver continued on without stopping but officers believe he may not know he ran over the victim.
Officers are looking for that driver, but say he won't be charged.
The name of the victim has not been released.
