Weather Shifting To Rain, Colder Temperatures

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- There are some significant weather changes on the way for the rest of this week, according to CBS13 meteorologist Laura Skirde.

Here's Laura's timeline for the next few days:

Today: Nice! Say goodbye to the 70s after this.

Thursday: Clouds move in early, but rain showers will probably hold off until the afternoon. The best shot at rain will be later in the evening and overnight into Friday morning. Rainfall totals are expected to be light.

Highs will be in low 60s. Snow levels will drop down to 4,000 feet Thursday night into Friday morning, with several inches of accumulation possible over the mountain passes.

Friday: The wet weather should wrap up by the afternoon, but it will be cool. Highs will be in the upper 50s.

Saturday/Sunday: At this point it looks like chance of showers could hold off until Saturday evening, with showers possible through mid-day Sunday. Highs will only be in the upper 50s. The normal Sacramento high for this time of year is 69 degrees.

Reminder: Daylight savings time is 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Set clocks back one hour when going to bed on Saturday night.
