Best Pierogies In Sacramento

A pierogi is a simple Polish dumpling best consumed when it's cold out, but really it can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Traditionally stuffings include some sort of potato filling, ground beef, sauerkraut, cheese and fruit, but modern day pierogis can have all sorts of fillings like spinach, bacon cheddar, scallions, you name it. And with California boasting a sizable Polish population, you won't be hard-pressed to find a pierogi dish if you ever get the hankering for a couple.

Their specialty is sausage. Channeling its inner German beer hall experience, but amidst the happy hour menu offerings, is a pierogi sampler worth your while. It's your traditional pierogi, but what really brings out the flavors are all the dipping sauces you get. You get to try grune sosse (German green sauce), pimento, aioli, bier cheese and creamy garlic-chive to go with your pierogi. It would behoove you to order up a sausage and beer (or bier) to go along with your pierogis.
