The non-profit California Musical Theatre established Broadway Sacramento in 1989 to bring the capital city a variety of high-quality Broadway performances. Hosted at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, performances provide the region with the class and professionalism that is expected from Broadway shows. Despite its relatively short history in the city, Broadway Sacramento sells more than 200,000 tickets each year. The Broadway series also attracts patrons from as far away as the Oregon border, western Nevada and throughout the Central Valley. The residual effect of bringing Broadway performances to the city has meant a boost in the cultural and nightlife offerings of Sacramento. After dinner on the Delta and perhaps a walk through Old Sacramento, you won't want to miss a Broadway performance to cap off a perfect evening out in California's capital city.
