The Torch Club's booze and blues brings in crowds from all over. Brought to life in the early '30s, it is touted as Sacramento's premier blues club, with live local and national acts six days a week. A sponsor of the 2012 Sacramento Blues Fest, Po' Boyz is the home of Cajun-American cuisine and even hotter blues. This hot spot, which Po' Boyz calls a slice of 'Nawlins flavor, is said to be not quite a Cajun country juke join, but ripe with the feel of the blues from the owner's hometown in Louisiana. A weekly gig supported by the Sacramento Blues Society rips its way through the midweek slump on Wednesdays at Louie's Cocktail Lounge with an open blues jam packed full of area musicians. The blues blasts off at 8 p.m. A monthly blues jam is also scheduled for 2 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month. Just two blocks from the light rail station, Louie's is the perfect place for a long night of tunes and delicious drinks with lots of blues and no worries.

PowerHouse Pub puts on the PowerHouse of Blues weekly on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. As if that isn't enough, it follows that with another Sacramento Blues Society-supported blues jam that runs from 7 p.m. until close. Quite the spectacle with a 40-foot wall of premium liquors, the PowerHouse boasts more than 25 years in the area, with a renovation that brought it from biker to bluesy in 1999. Bring the drinks up to the deck to listen to tunes and watch the crowds flow by on historic Sutter Street.
