Best Bars For Black Wednesday In Sacramento
Thanksgiving is one of the key holidays when people come home to visit family and enjoy a long weekend of tryptophan-induced 'food comas' offset by the frenzy of Black Friday shopping specials. Did you know there was such a thing as Black Wednesday as well?
If you haven't heard the term before, Black Wednesday is basically the night before Thanksgiving when friends get together. It is rumored to be the biggest party night for most college students. Historically, the term has also been utilized for several not-so-exciting events. From political fallout and economic losses in the early 1990s and a major air traffic control blunder back in 1954 to the very recent Internet blackout in January to protest SOPA, the term Black Wednesday has been used in a wide variety of instances.
Forget the negative connotations of Black Wednesday and utilize the evening to get together with friends who have returned home to Sacramento to visit parents and other relatives. If you are looking for some fun places to catch up and enjoy a night out on the town, make a trip to one of these hot spots.

If you are from Sacramento, you grew up with The Torch Club. First established back in 1934, the year prohibition ended, The Torch Club was once a watering hole for local politicians, but today it's one of the most popular blues clubs around. It features a rotating mix of the hottest blues bands from Sacramento, the Bay Area and the rest of the nation. Although it has moved several times during its tenure, The Torch Club has longstanding roots in Sacramento's political scene. It used to be located a few doors down from Frank Fat's and Governor Jerry Brown was reported to frequent it back then.
