Bathroom Guide For O.Co Coliseum Tailgaters
Veteran tailgaters know they can't haul their own portable restrooms to Oakland Raiders games. Yet they still can get some relief at O.co Coliseum.
Outside the Coliseum, about 200 porta potties are located around the parking lot, according to Raiders spokesman Mike Taylor. If you want to make sure your trip to the porta potty is as tidy as possible, you may want to include a roll of toilet paper in your tailgating gear as well as some hand sanitizer.
Here are some other tips for your trip to the toilet:
- Lock the door behind you. No one wants to interrupt you while you're doing your business.
- Don't toss trash into the toilet. This includes dirty diapers, feminine hygiene products, leftover food and used beverage cups.
- This one is for you, guys: Be sure to lift the lid before and put down the lid after you're done.
- If possible, wipe up any mess you've made.
- Hold off on texting or talking on your cell phone. You don't want to drop your phone down the hole, do you?
Once you've entered the Coliseum, you won't have to deal with porta potties. This is where the stadium restrooms are:

No matter whether you're using a Coliseum restroom or a porta potty, keep cleanliness in mind. Be sure to thoroughly wash your hands with warm water; rubbing your wet, soapy hands together for at least 20 seconds.
Need a scientific reason to wash your hands after using one of the public restrooms at the Coliseum? A study released in 2011 by researchers at the University of Colorado found 19 types of bacteria on doors, faucet handles, toilet seats and other spots at 12 public restrooms (six for guys and six for gals) on the university campus.
