Autopsy Of US Student Who Died In Spain Indicates Accident
MADRID (AP) -- A Spanish court official says the final autopsy report on the body of the U.S. exchange student found dead in a river suggests an accidental death.
The spokesman for Madrid's Superior Justice Tribunal said Tuesday that a judge has ordered further investigations before concluding the case but that details of the probes were confidential by law.
He said the autopsy had ruled out violence as a cause of death of 22-year-old Austin Bice, from Carlsbad, Calif.
Bice was found on Mar. 8 in Madrid's Manzanares River, near a nightclub where he was last seen some 10 days earlier.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with court rules.
