Audio: The Grant Napear Show - September 14, 2011
Grant had a full slate of guests today but started by talking NFL football and laying out his opinion on weekly power rankings. Grant further expounded on his recurring point that Tony Romo doesn't have what it takes to play in big games.
At the end of the second hour, FOX Sports/NFL Network Football Analyst Charles Davis pulled the curtain back on employment at a Disney theme park before weighing in a potential Pac-16 superconference and spinning some tales about Troy Aikman's college career. Davis also praised Cam Newton's performance but warns that Newton still could have some serious growing pains as the season progresses.
Grant ranted on Antrel Rolle, New York Malcontent, before turning it over to Aaron Rodgers. The reigning Super Bowl Champ was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week and joined Grant on Wednesday to discuss golf lessons with Hank Haney, Jermichael Finley's return from last year's season-ending injury, and the overblown importance of offseason OTAs.
After Rodgers, NBC Sports' President of Programming Jon Miller talked about "Turning Point", NBC's new NFL show premiering Thursday on Versus. Miller looked ahead to the future of sports television, saying 3D technology remains too impractical for widespread use. Miller also explained the importance of Tiger Woods to the PGA Tour, predicting that Woods still has something left in the tank -provided that he can get healthy again.
Rounding out the stellar lineup for Wednesday was NFC Special Teams Player of the Week Ted Ginn, Jr. Ginn broke down his two touchdown returns last weekend against the Seahawks that earned him the honor and sparked the 49ers to a season-opening home victory.
