Audio: The Grant Napear Show - May 17, 2011
The NBA Draft Lottery results were announced this evening, with Grant broadcasting live from the Crest Theater in Sacramento at the Kings' Draft Lottery Party.
Jerry Reynolds was at the party as well and stopped by to discuss the incoming talent evaluation process. As an example, Jerry points to some of the things that stood out about Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins in their workouts over the past two years.
After taking a few calls, Grant welcomed Ian Thomsen of Sports Illustrated to talk about the NBA Playoffs and where the Heat stand after a tough Game 1 loss.
Grant then provided brief speculation as to which direction the Kings might go with their pick before turning it over to a live feed of the Lottery announcement, where the Kings were granted the number seven pick in the 2011 Draft.
Marcus Thornton brought his mom to the Draft Party - he also took the time to chat with Grant about his future in Sacramento.
Paul Westphal also dropped by to offer some insight on evaluating prospects for the upcoming draft. Westphal also gives an update on Hassan Whiteside.
Grant finished the show by taking input from callers regarding the results of the Draft Lottery.
