Audio: The Grant Napear Show - July 7, 2011
Thursday edition - Grant filled in on the Jim Rome Show this morning, rekindling his relationship with disinterested Tampa Bay Rays fans.
After recapping the earlier show, Grant and Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe dove into Roger Clemens' legal troubles as he faces an all-star list (literally) of witnesses in his perjury trial. Dan and Grant also talked some AL East baseball.
Grant's Rant shied away from sports today, as he called out the road construction in Folsom that closes his route every day for two hours.
After taking some calls in response to the rant (and a few Good Samaritans that defended the construction), Grant replayed an interview in which new Raiders Head Coach Hue Jackson joined Grant on the Jim Rome Show to shed some light on how the franchise has been handling the lockout. Jackson also laid out his plan to improve the team.
The last hour was all about golf - Grant asked the listeners their favorite courses in the area before former standup-comedian-turned-writer David Wood checked in. Wood recounts the adventures that led to his book, "Around the World in 80 Rounds: Chasing a Golf Ball from Tierra del Fuego to the Land of the Midnight Sun".
Finishing off the day, Bob Higgins, General Manager of Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis, talked about his gem of a golf course and some of the deals they're offering. Higgins compared Saddle Creek to the more expensive courses within a two hour drive of Sacramento.
