Audio: The Grant Napear Show - August 3, 2011
Today's show kicked off with a brief spot about Alex Rodriguez' possible involvement in an "underground" poker ring and the absurdity of Bud Selig's investigation.
Grant also posed the question to his listeners: who would you put in the NFL Hall of First, Randy Moss or Terrell Owens?
Finishing the first hour, NFL Network's Michael Lombardi briefly touched on the Philadelphia Eagles and the retirement of Randy Moss before going in depth on the moves thus far by the Raiders and 49ers.
After taking more calls on Moss and T.O., MLB Network's Greg Amsinger breaks down two of the big match-ups this weekend - Giants vs. Phillies and Red Sox vs. Yankees. Greg says the Giants have the advantage on Philadelphia because of their bullpen.
Grant's Rant went a little further in depth about Commissioner Bud's quest to eliminate high-stakes poker amongst MLB players.
Later, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area says the 49ers are slowly making their way back from a slow start to free agency, filling out their roster with the players that are left over and possibly finding some gems. Further, Maiocco states that the key to the 49ers' success again depends on quarterback play and that Michael Crabtree's foot fracture is cause for long-term concern.
