Audio: The Don Geronimo Show - September 20, 2011
Today, Don begins by explaining why he took yesterday off: he got food poisoning from bad chicken on Sunday night (which was his birthday). Don tells us the story, as well as the story of his visit to Sizzler on Saturday, and his neighbor's house alarm going off for a whole hour! Dave forgot his phone today, and he struggles throughout the entire show to keep his sanity. Don also tells us about the gala event he's hosting with LaRoy tonight at the Radisson.
Last night there were all kinds of great television- The Charlie Sheen Roast, the premiere of 2 And A Half Men with Ashton Kutcher, Dancing With The Stars, Monday Night Football, and the finale of Hell's Kitchen. The guys dive into all of them, especially the Charlie Sheen Roast. We also hear about Little Joe getting a black eye from his 2 year old son.
Don downloads an app called "Jew or not Jew," which has been pulled from the Apple Store in France, and shows it to the guys. We also hear about Roger Taylor, drummer for Queen, creating a website where he and the other Queen band members can hand pick musicians for a Queen tribute band, because they can't stand the ones already out there. Don then introduces us to a woman in Thailand who performs the art of "Body Slapping." Don calls her shop in Bangkok to ask a few questions.
After a few more clips from the Charlie Sheen Roast, as well as 2 And A Half Men, Don plays a couple clips of a guy who got rear ended in his car, and is a little too excited about being interviewed. We then hear the altercation between HBO's Larry Merchant and Welterweight Floyd Mayweather after his controversial victory of Victor Ortiz Saturday night. Don then resets his realignment of the States, and then gives us a new quiz from Cosmopolitan: 50 Things that guys say, and what they really mean.
Next up is the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom talks about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" getting repealed, the new book on Sarah Palin, a Krispy Kreme opening up in Roseville, and the top weekend box office numbers. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
