Audio: The Don Geronimo Show - June 30, 2011
Don begins by talking about the taping of his new show, Don After Dark this morning, in which Dave was once again part of. Don also talks about Chris Hansen being caught on tape cheating, and pulls out a Chris Hansen soundboard, which is a recurring theme throughout the show. We also find out that the #herewebuild committee has now become Think Big Sacramento, Dave spends most of the first hour telling us how the new name came about. The new website is www.thinkbigsacramento.org. Don also pulls out his "Dirty Jay" routine, and tells us about a woman who found blood in her fries at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Don and Dave also talk about wise tales our parents tell us when we're children, like pool water turning colors when you pee in it, and Don tells the story of when he found out there was no Santa Claus. Don and Dave then talk about their morning at the TV studio, and their buddy who talks too much, who apparently gave Dave the cold shoulder when he walked by.
Don informs us that the famous "Bulu" from the Monkey Jungle in Daddy Day, Daughter Day, died 31 years ago, and Don calls up the Monkey Jungle in Florida to talk about Bulu and the monkeys that live there. Olivia has dropped a new tweet to Drew, which leads the guys to talk to Drew about the way he treats ladies, including his ex, who stopped by the station today. We then find out about a new product called the "Camelflage," which is designed to hide a woman's camel toe. This leads to a discussion of pubic hair. Don then pulls out a recording of old Beach Boys outtakes, which is filled with curse words, causing the guys to hit the dump button numerous times. When that happens, the delay causes the guys to sound drunk during the broadcast, so the guys spend the next hour having fun playing with the button and playing it back to hear how it sounds. Don reads a TSA press release regarding sex toys at the security checkpoint, and a guy from CBS 13 who has no manners walks in the studio unannounced to turn on the TV camera. This irritates the guys, so Dave calls the TV station during the break to find out why that happened. When we return, Dave explains the situation, then the guys discuss how lame the finals for The Voice was last night, and how insincere all the judges sounded. Don and Dave then talk about who they think should be the new boss on The Office, and Don tells us about the new Oral Roberts magazine cover, which has very suggestive material on the cover. Don finishes with a caller 100, and Drew tops it off with a happy ending.
