Audio: The Don Geronimo Show - August 26, 2011
Today on the Don Geronimo Show, Don tells us how he was a huge success on Janet's Birthday yesterday. Don then calls Big Freda to get an update on Hurricane Irene. We also get introduced to a product Don saw on the NFL Network, called "Comfort Wipes", a new way "clean" yourself... Leading the guys into a discussion about how lazy one must be to need such a product. We then hear about Dave and Jodi's Twitter fight, involving a bartender Jodi has a crush on and Dave's phone call to that bartender.
The crew dive into the new ESPN the Magazine article: What If Michael Vick Were White, and why it was even written. Gus Johnson, the great FOX NFL broadcaster and voice of Madden '12, calls Don, and Don asks him, "What if Gus Johnson were white?" Gus responds with the quote of the week, "I'd be a lot richer!" After the interview, Don plays a Gus soundboard, complete with some of Gus' greatest calls, including "Instant Classic" & "Cold Blooded".
Radio lifer Walt Shaw, who's been with the station for over 50 years, shared some classic old tapes of his, one of which has Big Game James Worthy telling us why he loves Wheaties so much! Phantom gives us the latest with Hurricane Irene in the Phantoms News Hour. Plus he plays a clip of Carlton from the Prince of Bel Air telling us why Will and Jada Smith are just fine. And Don ends the show with an awesome clip of Glenn Beck telling us he loves Jews, they just need to stop talking over each other. That and so much more awesomeness that is the Don Geronimo Show!
