Aubrey Huff Dusts Off Rally Thong For Giants Game
The year of 2010 is still ingrained in many San Francisco Giants fans' heads. It was a rollercoaster of torture, elation and torture again, filled with quirky personalities such as closer Brian Wilson, the smiling Cody Ross and, of course, first baseman Aubrey Huff.
Some may remember Huff's beer chugging at the World Series parade, or his off-the-field bromance with teammate Pat Burrell, but his most famous identity as a member of the Giants is the "Rally Thong."
For Wednseday's NL Wildcard game, the now-retired Huff shared a picture on twitter of his gameday attire:
The Rally Thong was first introduced with 30 games remaining in the 2010 regular season. The Giants were out of a playoff spot and needed to overtake the San Diego Padres to make the postseason. Huff started wearing it after suggesting they'd go 20-10 to finish the year.
They ended up going 20-10 exactly and they beat the Padres in Game 162 to continue their trip to a World Series victory. Since then, the Rally Thong has been retired. Until Wednesday.
