Arrest Made In Stolen Kings Tickets

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- Police arrested a parolee for allegedly stealing a batch of Sacramento Kings tickets from a local non-profit organization.

Donald Morris, 27, was arrested for possession of stolen property and probation violation after the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department found about 29 missing tickets to an upcoming Kings game during a search of an Orangevale home Monday morning.

The NBA team had given dozens of tickets for the April 11 game versus the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Sweet Dreams Foundation, a group that helps design rooms for children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. The tickets disappeared when someone stole a vehicle from the driveway of the charity founder's home on March 17.

The vehicle was found several days later but the tickets were still missing. Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said 31 of the tickets are still unaccounted for after Morris' arrest.

Kings officials gave new tickets to the foundation and said anyone trying to use the stolen tickets will be questioned by security and not allowed to watch the game.

Morris is being held on $50,000 bail at the Sacramento County Main Jail. His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
