Arrest Made In Abduction Of Two Modesto Teenagers

MODESTO (CBS13) – Modesto Police have arrested a man and are looking for a second suspect in connection with the abduction of two teenage girls earlier this week.

After investigating, police arrested 28-year-old Christopher Lewis Armstrong of Modesto.

Police believe Armstrong is one of the suspects who abducted two girls as they walked home from school on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that after a conversation with the suspects who were in a gold Cadillac Escalade or Chevy Avalanche, the two girls got into the vehicle at Colfax Avenue and Encina Avenue under unknown circumstances.

After a few minutes, one of the girls escaped and flagged down a passing motorist, who called 911 and reported the incident.

The second girl was located an hour later.

Both girls were assaulted and were treated at a hospital.

Armstrong was booked into Stanislaus County jail on a variety of charges including kidnapping, attempted murder and kidnapping with the intent to commit sexual assault.

Police are still searching for the second suspect and are asking the publics help in identifying him.  He's described as a black male adult in his 20's, 5'5" to 5'6" tall and weighing 180lbs.  He was last seen wearing Giants baseball colored clothing.
