Armed Robbers Hit Turlock Jewelry Store; Shots Exchanged
TURLOCK (CBS13) - Shots were exchanged during a robbery of a jewelry store in Turlock on Thursday night.
Turlock police received calls of the robbery at Universal Jewelers at 229 W. Main Street at 6:48 p.m.
Three suspects dressed in dark clothing reportedly exited a silver Chevrolet Astro van and entered the business. The driver of the van remained in the vehicle.
One of the suspects who entered the store was armed and fired a shot at an employee, who was not hit, police said.
The suspects stole jewelry from the business and then fled in the van. As the van was leaving, an employee of the store fired a shot at the vehicle.
The van was found abandoned a few blocks from the business. It was determined to have been reported stolen out of Oakland.
