Another Night, Another Homicide Investigation In Stockton
STOCKTON (CBS13) - Thursday night brought another homicide investigation to the city of Stockton, the third deadly shooting in four nights.
Police responded to Monte Diablo Avenue and Ryde Avenue in the central part of the city after an adult man's body was found at about 9:45. A resident reported to CBS13 hearing multiple shots fired from what the resident said sounded like a semi-automatic weapon. Police confirmed the man died from a shooting. There was no known suspect or motive.
Thursday's death followed fatal shootings on Wednesday and Monday nights on Colt Drive in the north side of Stockton. A 42-year-old man was shot dead on Monday, and police returned fire on a 19-year-old on Wednesday after an officer was shot.
Thursday's homicide is already the 14th in Stockton, not including Wednesday's officer-involved shooting. The city set a record for homicides in 2011 with 58.
